Rituals for Wealth and Abundance: Your October Money Magick Guide
Simple rituals, spells, and mindset shifts to help you manifest abundance.

October isn’t just about candy, costumes, and scary fun; it’s also a time to draw in abundance and plan how you want to enhance your life moving forward. October is considered a magical time because of the seasonal transformation that shifts how we perceive and experience the world around us.
Within esoteric and magickal traditions, it is believed that this month is when the physical and metaphysical worlds draw closer together and the “veil” (the energetic boundary separating our world and the spiritual realm) thins. Because of this, one’s intuition is said to be sharper and spirit or ancestral communication is far more accessible.
Historically in agrarian cultures, October is harvest time, especially in the Northern Hemisphere. Harvest represents gathering (crops and grain) and letting go (cutting down plants and clearing the land). In seasonal folklore, it is the transition from reaping and taking inventory to releasing what has run its course and no longer serves us, thereby creating space for future abundance and prosperity.

So let’s get into spooky season with some simple rituals, spells, and mindset shifts to clear your space psychologically and physically, and start welcoming in abundance.
In this article you will discover:
What are rituals, spells, and mindset.
The importance of acknowledging psychological blocks.
The value of self-protection and setting intentions.
Different spells and rituals you can practice to create more intentionality in your life.
Rituals are repeated structured actions, gestures, or words performed in a specific context that hold deep emotional significance and personal meaning. Life can often feel chaotic and unpredictable, increasing anxiety and stress. Rituals can act as a psychological buffer, enhancing a sense of agency by creating predictability.
Spells are a way to take your intent and project it into the Universe. It is an action you take to help change or encourage something to happen. Spell casting generally involves tools such as candles, herbs, crystals, oils, colored threads, jars, and many other objects that are used to help you focus your intent and energy into what you want to will into existence.
In modern magick it’s important to understand that personal choice and preference matter because your mind and emotions are the main driver of success. Your subconscious and energy need to be in alignment with what you say, what you use, and how you use it. Consider the pre-written spells in this article as recommendations or a blueprint for you to customize to fit your unique vibration.
Pay attention to your intuition. If it doesn’t apply, let it fly—or simply change it.
Mindset is a fixed state of mind, mental attitude, or inclination. Being aware of your mindset is extremely important because it shapes what you believe about yourself, your abilities, and your emotional well-being. Believing that growth or change is possible enhances the willingness to practice new skills, whereas maintaining a fixed mindset often leads to avoiding challenges or giving up easily.
In the context of money and abundance, your mindset can sabotage and restrict your ability to acquire it. Whether through your financial habits, choices, early life experiences, or negative feelings about money, you might be holding onto ingrained beliefs blocking you from fully obtaining abundance.
Acknowledging Psychological Blocks
Before any financial abundance work can begin, it is important to address any psychological money blocks you may have internalized as truth for yourself. Take some time to identify, acknowledge, and release what no longer serves you to allow room for growth and opportunities.
If you grew up hearing phrases like, “wanting money is greedy” and “greed is bad,” or that you should be giving and self-sacrificing, in the name of humility, you might feel uncomfortable asking for money and feel as if you are doing something wrong.
Psychological money blocks often sound like:
“Someone else needs this more than me,” instead of, “My financial well-being is just as deserving of attention.”
“If I get what I am asking for, I will make sure I share it,” rather than, “I am deserving of this abundance, and I can choose to share it with [Insert name/cause].”
“I only need this, I don’t want it.” Deep down you have learned to believe that wanting more somehow makes you a bad person.
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate.” -Carl Jung
Safety and Intention
Be sure to align your ritual and spell practices with safety, intentionality, and the reminder to ‘harm none.’ You want prosperity and abundance to flow to you freely and safely. If you fail to specify how the wealth will arrive your spell could manifest in an unwanted or unintended way.
For example, you might ask for a large sum of money and then a family member passes away, leaving life insurance; or, you get into a car accident that pays out a huge settlement, but you’re left injured.
Harm None Phrase Examples:
The Wiccan Classic: “By the power of three times three, as I will, so mote it be. This spell is sealed, the work is done. For the good of all, and harming none.”
“With harm to none, my spell is done.”
“May it come to me easily and with harm to none.”
“As these words leave my tongue, let no damage here be done.”
“May my request rise and flow, bringing blessing as it goes. With harm to none and good for all, I release this cosmic call.”
Boundaries and self-protection are a part of your spiritual hygiene. You want to ensure you are creating a clear and sovereign space free from outside interference so your energy, intention, and power stay completely your own. There are many different ways you can honor and protect your physical and spiritual boundaries. One simple way is affirming that your intentions are only of the highest good.
Physical protection can include:
Locking your doors, keeping your ritual space private.
Saying “no” to people who drain your energy aka energy vampires.
Turning off your phone during rituals.
Eating a meal after to help ground you back into the physical world.
Wearing protective jewelry (black tourmaline, obsidian, or labradorite) or sigils during your practice.
Taking a shower or washing your hands after ritual work.
Spiritual protection can include:
Visualizing a barrier around your physical body, such as a white, pink, or gold light.
Visualizing a beautiful crystal structure surrounding you, representing clarity, integrity, and the strength of your boundaries.
Visualizing a shield of mirrors surrounding you that reflects intrusive and unwanted energy back to its source.
Inviting in your trusted ancestors, spirit guides, God, or deities for protection. (Remember to protect your autonomy and beliefs. What you are willing to invite into your space is up to you. Give yourself permission to practice without invocation or spirit contact).
Not jeopardizing your well-being for a spell. Your sleep, physical health, safety, and emotional stability come first.
Now, that the foundation is set, psychological blocks addressed, and safety and intentions discussed, let’s get into a few simple ways to manifest financial abundance and create more intentionality in your life this spooky season.
Disclaimer: Always use caution when performing any spells or rituals involving fire. Always practice in a well-ventilated area, use a fireproof container, keep flammable materials away, keep water or an appropriate fire extinguisher nearby, avoid burning materials that may release toxic fumes, and never leave an open flame unattended.

Begin with the emotional and psychological process of reflection and release. Before we can make room for what is to come we need to clear space for it.
Endings are, in fact, part of beginnings.
Take inventory of what you have accomplished this year, what worked, what didn’t, what makes sense to keep focusing on, and what needs to change.
What has hurt? What has helped?
Ask yourself what am I no longer taking with me as I move forward?
Clearing Rituals and Spells
It’s important to ensure that you are not only releasing unhelpful beliefs, painful memories, and negative emotions from your mind, but also cleansing your home and space of any negative or stagnant energy. Your home should be your safe haven, and you can help create more peace and harmony in your space with this threshold ritual.
Doorway Cleansing
The doorway to your home is where the energy from the outside meets your inside world. With this ritual you are deciding what is unwelcome in your house and releasing it from your sacred space. Chaos, emotional heaviness, harmful intent, tension, negativity, spiritual oppression, and anything low-vibrational needs to go.
First, wipe down and clean the entrance area. Clean the inside, outside, and frame of your door, along with the door handles, mats, and surrounding floor.
As you are cleaning, focus on your intention.
When you are done cleaning and decluttering, use your dominant hand to touch the left side of your door, then the right side, and say out loud:
“Every energy that does not belong in my home is cleared,
By my will, all darkness and shadow have disappeared.
Only peace and love are welcome to stay,
My home is a haven, the heavy now cast away.
So it is spoken, so it is done.”
End the ritual with closing and locking your door.
Unhealthy psychological bonds and attachments can keep a person feeling chronically fatigued, emotionally unwell, and tied to past toxic relationships.
Cord-cutting is a practice to symbolically sever the negative emotional, psychological, and energetic connections between yourself and another person, behavior, habit, memory, place, object, or entity. Think of these connections as invisible, ethereal tethers linking your spirit, soul, or life force energy to someone or something else.
Cord-cutting is about reclaiming your power. You are taking back your life force and no longer allowing your attachment to hinder your personal growth. It is an act of self-sovereignty.
For this powerful practice you are going to need:
two candles (pick a color that represents you and a color that represents the someone or something you are releasing)
a length of string, twine, or yarn (long enough to tie around both candles and still leave nine inches of space between them)
a lighter
scissors
Place your two candles nine inches apart. In numerology, the number 9 symbolizes release and completion. Tie the string between the two candles, representing the energetic tie. Focus on your intention, safely light the candles, and say out loud:
“With this flame and with this twine,
What I’ve carried is no longer mine.
What bound me once now falls away,
I walk in freedom from this day.
Cord, be cut and cord, be free,
As I will it, so mote it be.”
Use your scissors to cut the string or let the flame burn through the string to physically and symbolically break the connection.
Burning paper is a physical expression to an internal decision. It is a way to mark an ending and let go. If burning is not an option, you can tear the paper into pieces and place it in the recycling. If you use toilet paper you can flush it down the toilet.
Write down a feeling, belief, attachment, or painful memory on a piece of paper that you want to release. Fold the paper away from you three times (or tear it up three times) and each time you fold or tear it say out loud:
For tearing paper:
“Paper tearing and paper torn,
From this action I am reborn.
What hurts my heart, I release and sever,
Broken apart and now gone forever.
So it is said, so it is done.”
For flushing a piece of toilet paper:
“Water rushing, water clear,
Take away what I give you here.
Now spiraling down, gone with the flow,
Never to return, never to grow.
So it is spoken, so it is done.”
Salt water is considered one of the most powerful tools to work with because it represents protection, cleansing, renewal, and energetic flow. If you so happen to live near the ocean you can perform this clearing ritual by the shoreline. Alternatively, you can use a bowl of salt water at home.
Set a clear intention for what you are ready to release. As you breathe in, imagine making room for the prosperity that is to come. As you breathe out, imagine releasing what you refuse to carry any longer.
If you are using a bowl of saltwater, gently stir the water clockwise (since you are simultaneously clearing out heaviness and inviting in positivity) with the fingers of your dominant hand while maintaining your breathing visualization. Say out loud:
“Salt and water, pure and true,
Cleanse my spirit, make me new.
Clear my energy, clear my mind,
Leave no shadows left behind.
Make room now for good fortune to flow,
Joy, peace, and abundance, begin to grow.
So it is said, so it is done.”
OR A LITTLE SHORTER VERSION:
(In this version, move your finger counterclockwise as the sole focus here is release.)
“Salt and water to clear the way,
My heavy blocks no longer stay.
Draw out all my doubt and fear,
To ensure my path is crystal clear.
So it is said, so it is done.”
When you feel ready to do so safely dispose of the water down a suitable drain.
If you are looking out onto the ocean say out loud:
Candle Magick
One of the oldest forms of manifesting is candle magick. A lit candle acts as beacon to draw prosperous energy toward you. It is tradition to always use a brand new candle for each spell to ensure a clean slate for your intent. For this money spell you are going to need:
a bay leaf
a cinnamon stick (not cinnamon powder)
a green candle
a lighter
paper money or coins
a toothpick, pin, thumbtack, or some item to carve into candle wax
Safely carve money symbols onto your candle while focusing on you intention. Place the bay leaf and cinnamon stick on top of your money, safely light your candle, and repeat:
“I draw in and welcome wealth,
Bringing comfort, peace, and health.
Rich with blessings, my path is clear,
Financial freedom is welcome here.
So it is spoken, so it is done.”
The Pumpkin Prosperity Spell
You will need:
one small pumpkin
a green candle
a lighter
a piece of paper
a pen
a cinnamon stick (not cinnamon powder)
a coin or a personal symbol of abundance
a bay leaf
Wipe clean your pumpkin, and as you’re doing so, imagine any stress or negativity that you have been holding being wiped away. Write on the piece of paper what prosperity means to you. Fold your paper three times toward you and place it under the pumpkin. Arrange the bay leaf, cinnamon stick, and the coin or abundance symbol around the pumpkin. Safely light your candle and visualize connecting to more resources, opportunities, and financial security. Say out loud:
“Fruit of the harvest, vibrant and rife,
I welcome abundance into my life.
May what I seek begin to grow,
May good fortune guide the seeds I sow.
With gratitude for what I receive,
I welcome the good I can build and achieve.
So it is said, so it is done.”
The Cinnamon Ritual
Cinnamon is traditionally used to symbolize warmth, money, and success. This prosperity ritual is done on the first day of the month to welcome good fortune into the home.
You will need:
a small amount (pinch) of ground cinnamon
an open doorway, traditionally the front door to your home
Focus on what you want to welcome into your life. Place a pinch of cinnamon powder in the palm of your dominant hand. Clearly visualize your intention. Say out loud:
“Cinnamon warm, cinnamon bright,
Welcome abundance into my life.
May opportunity find its way,
May prosperity grow day by day.
So it is spoken, so it is done.”
Stand outside of your front door, facing inward and gently blow the cinnamon from your palm across the doorway into your home. Careful not to get it in your eyes.
Money Jar Spell
Money jar spells, aka prosperity jars or witches bottles, are used to attract wealth. The jar acts as a long-term magnet that continuously draws abundance and financial stability into your life. You will fill a jar with money, herbs, crystals, and objects that represent wealth and opportunity. Then you charge it with your intention, seal it, and place it aside so it can work its magick. If you want, from time to time, shake the jar to “wake up” the energy.
You don’t need everything on this list, but here are some traditional suggestions to create your money jar:
one jar that you can seal with a lid
coins (even a penny), cash, or something that symbolizes money
basil
uncooked rice or salt
cinnamon stick
cloves
coffee
mint leaf
bay leaf
Pyrite
Citrine
one green candle
a lighter
pen
lengthy string (preferably green) to wrap around the jar nine times
First, cleanse your jar. Then add a layer of (uncooked) rice or salt at the bottom of the jar. Write a clear and specific money goal or a money symbol on a bay leaf and then fold the bay leaf toward you. Layer in your money and abundance-attracting ingredients, and as you are adding in each item, focus on your intention. When finished adding in your items, seal the jar with the lid. Take the string, wrap it around the jar nine times, and secure it while continuing to focus on your intention. Safely light the candle and allow the wax to drip onto the jar lid while you say out loud:
“Blessed and steady, rich and free,
Money grows abundantly.
Through my work and through the days,
Money flows and money stays.
As I will it, you will grow,
Let prosperity overflow.
So it is said, so it is done.”
Micro-Rituals (daily habits)
In psychology, practicing micro-rituals can help interrupt automatic stress responses, restore a sense of agency, and set intention and focus for your day. These rituals can last anywhere from one minute to a few minutes. Integrating grounding techniques, self-compassion, gratitude, and intention setting into daily routines can be a powerful psychological anchor.
Some daily routine moments where you could include a micro-ritual could be:
When having your regular morning beverage, take a moment to focus your attention on how you want your day to be. Visualize and feel what a good day would be for you.
When walking through a doorway, use that action as a mental boundary to move from what you were just doing to focusing on what is to happen next. For example, when you leave work, take a deep breath, and release it as you walk through the door. Say to yourself, “Work is done; my time now belongs to me.”
When showering in the evening, as the water washes over you, visualize any negative feelings, thoughts, interactions, or situations from the day being taken down the drain. Say to yourself, “Down the drain goes all the stress, leaving me to heal and rest.”
When looking at yourself in the mirror while brushing your teeth, applying makeup, or washing your hands, take that moment to extend some self-compassion. Say to yourself, “I acknowledge the struggles, and life is not always clear, but I love the person that is standing right here.”
When lying in bed before you fall asleep, practice the nighttime tap of gratitude. With a finger of your dominant hand, tap your forehead seven times (as seven in numerology represents deep sleep and rest) and say to yourself, “With grateful thoughts for the day I quiet my mind, I welcome in sweet dreams and leave the heavy thoughts behind.”
Don’t forget that intention (your direction) and focus (your power) matter and are considered the foundation of any ritual. Where focus and emotion go, energy flows.
Practicing money and abundance spells during the waxing moon, on Thursdays, and using the color green or gold are common esoteric ways to enhance your work. But remember, your spiritual practice is personal. Have fun with it and always safety first.
“Money flows, abundance grows.
What I request, the Universe bestows.”
