Consultation & Mentorship
There’s often not enough support in graduate school, and many people are left navigating clinical expectations and professional identity on their own. Consultation can provide a space for guidance, validation, and thoughtful support during this overwhelming time. Unlike mentorship, which involves a longer-term developmental relationship focused on growth and skill-building, consultation is typically more focused and situational, offering targeted insight and perspective around specific challenges or decisions. Mentorship offers an ongoing, relationship-centered space for deeper professional growth, skill development, and reflective learning over time.
For graduate students (in the mental health and community support fields) support can include:
-
Developing clinical confidence (first sessions, documentation, note-taking).
-
Guidance on professional identity development, self-care, and imposter syndrome.
-
Support with clinical impasses, therapeutic barriers, and stalled therapeutic process.
For therapists/clinicians:
-
Case consultation for clinicians seeking a second opinion or support with complex cases including: the psychology of money, narcissism, intimate partner violence, high conflict divorce and/or coparenting, and legal system failure.
-
Support with ethically and skillfully integrating spirituality (not religion) into therapy.
-
Guidance on the clinical and ethical use of Tarot in clinical practice.

Please note: consultation is NOT a substitute for supervision.
